What it really costs
Check a pallet of 40 boxes one label at a time, at 2 seconds to aim, scan and tap each, and that is 80 seconds a pallet. Receive 25 pallets a day and it adds up to almost 3 hours a week spent aiming a scanner. Read the whole pallet in one go and that time goes to the next delivery, with any wrong box flagged before the driver leaves. (Worked example for illustration.)
