Ready-to-go solutions
Replica
Replica keeps a second server a live copy of your first one. If Server 1 goes down, Server 2 already has the databases and the files and can take over.
Server 2 follows Server 1 and can take over
What it is
Replica is a standby server. It keeps a second server a live copy of the first: MySQL and other databases, plus the folders you choose. If Server 1 goes down, Server 2 can take over.
It is built for Windows servers, with Linux to follow later. Replica builds on the Raptool Backup engine.
What you get
What Replica is built to do.
Phase 1 keeps the MySQL databases on Server 2 in step with Server 1.
Chosen folders are mirrored to the second server too, so files are there when you need them.
In phase 1 you decide when Server 2 takes over.
Built for Windows servers first, with Linux later.
PostgreSQL and Linux support come next.
A witness will let Server 2 take over by itself. This is planned for later.
How it works
How Replica works once your servers are connected.
Point Replica at Server 1 and Server 2, and choose the databases and folders to keep in step.
Replica keeps Server 2 a live copy of Server 1, using the Raptool Backup engine.
If Server 1 goes down, Server 2 takes over. In phase 1 this is done manually.
Who it is for
When the server is down, work stops. Replica is for the day that happens.
Add a second server that can carry on.
Warehouses and logistics where a stopped server stops the floor.
A takeover plan that does not start from a restore.
Databases kept in sync on a second Windows server.
