Why RFID Belongs in Your Warehouse

Overview

Scanning one barcode at a time works. But it takes time, and every scan needs a clear view of the label. RFID changes that. You can read many tags at once, from a distance, without lining up each item. That means faster counts, faster receiving and a clearer picture of what you hold. Raptool WMS supports RFID through Raptool Client, so your team can use it next to barcodes. You do not have to choose one. You use each where it fits best.

Read many items at once

With barcodes, you scan one label, then the next. With RFID, a reader picks up many tags in one sweep. You do not need to see each label. Boxes can stay closed and items can stay stacked. For you, that means less handling and less walking. Your team spends its time on real work instead of lining up scanners. The gain is biggest where you handle large numbers of similar items again and again.

Faster stock counts

Counting stock is slow when every item needs its own scan. RFID helps you cover a shelf or a pallet in far less time. You can count more often, which keeps your stock figures closer to reality. Raptool WMS handles stock counts with mobile scanning, and Raptool Client gives you full access to RFID hardware. Your counts feed straight into the system, so you see differences early and fix them before they cause trouble.

Fewer missed items at the door

Receiving is where errors begin. A missed carton or a wrong quantity travels with you for weeks. RFID lets you check a whole delivery as it arrives and compare it with what you expected. You spot gaps while the driver is still there. In Raptool WMS, receiving and put-away follow one clear flow, so what you confirm at the dock is what the system shows on the shelf.

Works with the gear you choose

Raptool is a Zebra Technologies partner. We also work with Honeywell, Datalogic and Newland devices. Raptool Client runs natively on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac. It reaches barcode scanners, camera, RFID, and label and receipt printers. It works online and offline. So you can start with the devices you have, add RFID where it pays off, and connect it all to your ERP, such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Fortnox or Visma.
