Buying another handheld is easy. Removing the awkward scan, repeated login or battery interruption takes more thought. Newland’s current Android range is worth a closer look because it offers several different ways to organize the work, from full-touch mobile devices to keypad computers and integrated UHF RFID.
The newest dated launch in this selection is the MT95 Kambur Pro III, announced by Newland AIDC EMEA on 8 June 2026. This guide compares it with the MT93 Megattera Pro variants, MT67 Sei II and N7 Cachalot Pro II. These are selected EMEA products checked on 15 October 2026; model names, options and availability can differ between regions.
The latest launch, and the alternatives around it
The MT95 Kambur Pro III replaces the Pro II in Newland’s EMEA lineup. Its launch announcement describes Android 15 GMS, Android Enterprise Recommended certification, 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and a dedicated megapixel barcode imager. This is enterprise data-capture equipment with an Android interface, rather than a consumer phone whose camera is being asked to do every scan. June 2026 launch.
| Device | Role worth evaluating | What distinguishes it |
|---|---|---|
| MT95 Kambur Pro III | Delivery, field tasks and mobile operations. | Recent 2026 full-touch launch with 5G and Wi-Fi 6. |
| MT93 Megattera Pro Angled Shooter | Repeated barcode work while viewing the screen. | Angled capture geometry. |
| MT93 Megattera Pro UHF | Suitably tagged inventory and asset identification. | Integrated UHF reader and barcode capture. |
| MT67 Sei II | Compact handheld work in retail and logistics. | 4-inch touchscreen, Android 15 and replaceable hot-swap battery. |
| N7 Cachalot Pro II | Warehouse work with repeated key entry. | Physical keypad choices and optional Duo Near & Far capture. |
The other devices are current alternatives, not all new June 2026 launches. Newland’s MT93 Pro range update dates to September 2025. Start with the task, then compare the exact configuration rather than choosing by product age alone.
MT95 Kambur Pro III: the mobile worker’s shortlist
The MT95 Pro III combines a 6-inch touchscreen with a dedicated 1D/2D imager. The current EMEA part-number list includes a standard 5G version and a data-only 5G version, both described with Android 15 GMS AER. That difference matters if voice calls form part of the job. Product details and available versions.
Newland also highlights eSIM, a side fingerprint sensor and a 5,100 mAh hot-swappable battery in its launch material. These are useful capabilities to evaluate, rather than a guarantee of uninterrupted work. Check the login method with gloves, the battery exchange with a transaction open and the network behavior on the actual route.
For delivery work, the important result is a completed delivery record: the correct parcel, status and any required image. A fast scan contributes to that result, but the application still needs to handle exceptions and recover when the driver loses coverage. Ask the demonstrator to show a failed read and an interrupted upload.
For shop-floor work, watch how often the device goes into a pocket and comes back out. A large screen may help with product information and customer orders, while repeated quantity entry may favor a keypad alternative. Put the same real task on both before deciding.
MT93 Megattera Pro: the scan angle is a working decision
Newland’s September 2025 update expanded the MT93 Pro series with Straight Shooter and UHF versions alongside the Angled Shooter. The distinction is practical: where the scan engine points changes how the operator holds the device while looking at the application. MT93 series update.
The Angled Shooter page describes a 5.5-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi 6E, 4G and dedicated barcode capture with Acuscan targeting. Newland presents the angle as an ergonomic benefit. Treat comfort as something the team should assess over a representative shift, especially with different shelf heights and item sizes. Angled Shooter details.
Use densely packed labels in the trial. The task is to read the intended item, not simply the first readable barcode. Count wrong selections, repositioning and corrections, then include the time spent entering quantity and confirming the transaction.

UHF changes inventory work, provided the process is ready
The MT93 Megattera Pro UHF combines barcode capture with a UHF reader integrated into its grip. The published configuration is a separate model with its own battery, radio and reader specifications. Buying an ordinary MT93 does not establish that it has UHF. UHF product and configuration details.
That makes it worth evaluating for tagged stock, equipment or assets. The stock must have suitable tags, and the application must understand which items belong in the count. Nearby goods can enter the read zone, so a quick collection of tag identifiers is only part of a reliable inventory process.
Test a normal shelf, adjacent stock, an item behind other goods and a missing tag. Check how the operator reconciles the result and handles an unexpected item. Keep barcode entry available for exceptions. The value comes from a count that can be trusted and completed with less effort.
MT67 Sei II: compactness can matter more than another feature
The current MT67 Sei II page specifies Android 15 GMS AER, a 4-inch touchscreen, 4G and a 4,800 mAh hot-swappable battery. It also lists an optional pistol grip. These features put it on the shortlist for work where a compact handheld and dedicated barcode capture are useful. MT67 Sei II specifications.
A smaller screen takes less space in the hand, but may make a detailed form less comfortable to use. Try an ordinary stock check and a complicated exception. Watch whether the operator can read the required information without repeated scrolling or changing grip.
Check the supplied accessories as carefully as the handheld. A protective case, strap, charging position and spare-battery plan affect whether the equipment is ready at the beginning of the next shift.
N7 Cachalot Pro II: physical keys and two scanning distances
The N7 Cachalot Pro II offers 29-, 38- and 47-key layouts. It is available with standard-range capture or optional Duo Near & Far technology, which Newland describes as two scan engines working together for different distances. Do not transfer that option to every N7 part number. N7 models and technical data.
The published depth-of-field figures vary substantially with barcode size and type. That is more useful than a single headline distance: it shows why the test should use the labels the warehouse actually prints. Include the smallest location code and the most reflective packaging.
Keys can help when quantities and shortcuts dominate the shift. A touchscreen can help when the application needs more visual information. Neither result follows automatically from the specification. Time the full task on the intended application, including correction of an incorrectly entered quantity.
Read the Android roadmap before signing the order
Newland’s current EMEA roadmap lists Android 15 for MT95 Pro III and MT67 Sei II. It also marks Android 15 upgrades as released for the MT93 Pro series and N7 Pro II, even though their product pages still describe Android 13. A launch specification and an available upgrade are different facts. Confirm what the delivered unit will run. Official Android roadmap.
The same roadmap lists security-patch availability through Q4 2029 for MT95 Pro III, and through February 2028 for MT67 Sei II. It describes Android 17 as under development, with timing and details subject to change. That is a planning statement, not a released upgrade or a fixed delivery commitment.
Newland advertises Ndevor as free device-management software for its mobile computers. Ask which controls, hosting arrangements and support terms meet your needs. Make the device prove that it removes work
Choose one repeated job and measure a complete, valid transaction with the current setup. Repeat with the proposed handheld. Include login, aiming, data entry, correction and application confirmation. Record errors and battery behavior as well as speed.
Two seconds per transaction: useful, but count it correctly.
Saving an assumed 2 seconds on 1,200 transactions per working day over 250 days releases about 167 labor-hours per year. At €30 per hour, that is €5,000 of labor capacity before equipment, licenses, integration and support. This is hypothetical arithmetic, not a Newland benchmark or a cash-saving forecast.
Capacity may improve service or clear a backlog without changing payroll. A cash-saving case needs evidence of reduced paid expenditure and the full cost of the rollout. Avoid adding several benefits that all describe the same saved time.
The strongest Newland shortlist may contain more than one device: a mobile full-touch unit, a compact scanner, or a keypad computer for repeated entry. Bring the awkward label, the gloves and the actual application to the demonstration. Choose the configuration that makes the complete job easier.
